A successful long weekend at the Wales and West Show

A fabulous time was had by all at the show as a crowd from Holme Farm competed in this wonderful event at David Broome’s Event Centre. The weather was perfect the rain not arriving until around 3.00pm on the Sunday – just as the weather forecaster’s had predicted. We a had a terrific first day. Warrior and Rusty gained loads of experience. Steve on Hottie jumped 2 good rounds. Katie on Red jumped well round the 95 and was placed in the 75 on Miffy. Jo on Dory jumped a super double clear in the 95.

Day 2 was amazing. Tom, Issy and Darcy had great fun and made excellent progress. Jess Oakley and Malc jumped a pony Derby for 3rd. Warrior , ridden by Joanne, excelled himself with a 5th earlier and 6th in a Derby class, 20 fences!! He’s earned his dinner. Jo on Dory was 3rd in the same class and Hottie and Steve 4th. Rusty jumped an 85 for 4 faults in the jump off. .

Day 3 Rusty finally found his mojo and got placed. The highlight was Issy Chester with two wins and Jo on Dory winning the 90 intro Derby with the only clear , 20 fences. All the others continued to jump well if a little tired , and will have gained much from the experience. Our sincere thanks to the team of Katie Robotham, Sally Robotham, Steve Whittingham, Laura Jay , Peter Wilde and Sylvia Morgan for the epic job of finishing up, mucking out and repacking the lorries. It would have been impossible without you. Looking forward to next time!!
